Carl-Johan Spak new board member in SwedenBIO

- I think SwedenBIO plays a very important role as a gathering place," says Carl-Johan, Executive Vice President Global Technologies at Recipharm. It is a great honour to be part of the board of such an organization and to have a direct impact on its direction!

Why are you involved in SwedenBIO?

I believe that SwedenBIO fulfills a very important function as a gathering place for the Swedish life science industry. SwedenBIO is unique as an organization with a large number of development companies in both pharma and medtech, major pharmaceutical companies, investors and service providers among its members. It is a great honor to be on the board of such an organization and to have a direct impact on its direction.

What is your main concern for the organization?

In my daily work at Recipharm, I am responsible for our pharmaceutical development services with many Swedish companies as customers. A very important issue for these companies is the financing of ongoing development projects. Here I think that SwedenBIO has a very important task to influence so that we get a climate that facilitates the financing of good life science projects. I am also very keen that SwedenBIO should contribute to drawing attention to possible competition problems in public activities, companies or authorities, in our industry where there are so-called sales activities. This is a particularly important issue for us service providers in a competitive market and there is often a lack of understanding of such competition issues.

Carl-Johan was elected to the board during the annual meeting on April 3.
