Investors are flying north

Right now, a steady autumn high pressure has parked itself over both our office and the Swedish life science sector. While the birds will soon fly south, we and our dedicated members and sponsors are working hard to get investors and potential life science partners moving in the opposite direction.

This year’s edition of the Nordic Life Science days will break all previous records in terms of the number of participants and I would argue that the right people are coming to the event. So naturally we expect the meeting to give our industry a big boost in terms of new investments and fruitful partnerships. We have no doubt that the quality of Swedish life science companies is good – several major deals have been made recently and we particularly congratulate our member Alligator Bioscience on its collaboration agreement with Johnson & Johnson Innovation.

The latter have also recently entered into a partnership with Karolinska Holding to support and drive the growth of companies rooted in academic research – part of the high pressure and another positive confirmation of the strong and growing interest in doing life science in Sweden.

What I’m writing about here is just a sample of the exciting things happening right now. SwedenBIO’s role as your industry organization is, among other things, to keep track and help in all possible ways. Here we launch the new SwedenBIO website. Our stated ambition is for it to be a frequently visited forum for up-to-date information, for discussion and debate and, of course, a source of the knowledge that helps your business succeed.

We like the high pressure in the industry and we are looking forward to an active autumn!
