The objective is to develop a method to provide scientific and regulatory support to academic researchers to establish new indications for older medicines outside patent protection. The national repurposing pilot project was launched on February 2, 2022 by the Medical Products Agency in collaboration with the Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefits Agency.
