“Reviewing EU applications provides unique insight”

- A way to contribute to Sweden taking a greater place internationally and at the same time increase its own competence about the SME instrument and EU support in this area. This is how Iris Öhrn of Business Region Göteborg explains why she volunteered to review applications for the SME Instrument, something she thinks more people should do.

– It provides a unique opportunity to keep abreast of market developments, gain new insights from successful small businesses and take advantage of networking opportunities with investors and other relevant actors,” says Iris Öhrn. In addition, we can use our expertise to help build our innovation landscape by sharing knowledge with our companies and partners in Sweden and the Nordic region.

At Business Region Göteborg, she works on providing companies with contacts to potential investors in both remote and local markets. The BRG has had an office in Brussels for some years now and thus has regular contacts with several European organizations such as EASME, Enterprise Europe Network and Scanbalt.

– In the past, we have not prioritized meeting EASME (Executive Agency for SMEs) or EUgateway to discuss cooperation in the life science area, but now we are much more up to date,” says Iris Öhrn.

ATTENTION! EASME is currently seeking reviewers with expertise in the following areas: private equity, angel investments, crowd funding, seed capital and VC. Read more here and sign up: We need your investment expertise! Become an evaluator for the SME Instrument
