SwedenBIO comments on the inquiry into research infrastructure

The research infrastructures that we have in Sweden, both the large ones such as SciLifeLab and Max IV, but also lab facilities around universities and colleges, are from an industry perspective too underutilized national treasures.

– Many of the proposals, which we need to analyze more, point in a good direction. But perhaps that complexity has been lost. It is currently difficult for Scilifelab, for example, to act for increased utilization. Just signing contracts will be difficult. The industry wants a simplified and clear mandate that makes it easy to take decisions. This is a prerequisite for Scilifelab to really be able to collaborate with research companies,” says Helena Strigård.
