Expand and make permanent the National Platform for Life Science Incubation.

SwedenBIO's input to the research policy bill Proposal 6 of 7.

SwedenBIO’s assessment:

Without cooperation between regional actors, Sweden will certainly fail in its ambition to be a strong life science nation. This is especially true for incubators and science parks. The project-based National Platform for Life Science Incubation (NPLS) has laid the groundwork for collaborations that are critical to incubator companies’ access to key skills and intelligent capital. Today, investors and international customers describe how difficult it is to get an overview of the Swedish incubator companies that are spread across the country. SwedenBIO believes that NPLS, with enhanced resources, can play a role in counteracting this.

SwedenBIO’s Proposal:

The NPLS should be made permanent with an annual allocation of SEK 4 million. In addition, the mission should be extended to act as SamInvest and other investors’ counterpart in the search for incubator companies to invest in.
