{"id":33206,"date":"2022-06-14T13:03:47","date_gmt":"2022-06-14T11:03:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/swedenbio.se\/over-100-nordic-companies-present-at-bio2022-as-us-nordics-collaborations-increase\/"},"modified":"2025-04-16T17:04:56","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T15:04:56","slug":"over-100-nordic-companies-present-at-bio2022-as-us-nordics-collaborations-increase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/swedenbio.se\/en\/over-100-nordic-companies-present-at-bio2022-as-us-nordics-collaborations-increase\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 100 Nordic companies present at BIO2022 as US\u2013Nordics collaborations increase"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This week, over 100 Nordic companies have made it to BIO International Convention 2022 in San Diego on June 13-16 for the world\u2019s premier life sciences event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The companies represent the region\u2019s traditional strengths in cancer immunotherapy, CNS, genomics and protein science, along with new areas such as cell and gene therapy, microbiomics and precision medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Meet the Nordic actors at the Nordics Pavilion at BIO International Convention 2022 \u2013 No. 3317.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can view the list of participating companies <a href=\"https:\/\/swedenbio.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/pitchar-nordiska-bolagen.pdf\">here.<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Nordics top global ranking<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly before BIO2022 took place, the Nordic nations swept up top placements in the global ranking Nature Biotechnology World Review, showcasing the Nordic region&#8217;s strengthened position as a powerhouse for life science innovation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the World Review, Sweden ranks second to winner Switzerland, Denmark is fifth, and Finland ninth. Norway lies just outside the top 10 at 13<sup>th&nbsp;<\/sup>place. Meanwhile, Iceland ranked highest in the sub-category of nations with no headquartered biotech companies listed on stock exchanges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted that Sweden and our Nordic neighbours rank so highly in this latest Nature Biotechnology World Review,\u201d says Helena Strig\u00e5rd, CEO of SwedenBIO, the life science industry association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe timing could not be better as we for the first time in many years have a joint Nordics Pavilion at BIO with over 100 companies represented. We are also seeing strengthened links with the US between the Nordics in general and Sweden in particular, with increasing collaboration between research centers, multicenter clinical trials, and direct investment.
