Frida Lawenius took over as interim CEO/Director General of SwedenBIO on September 15, 2022. Prior to that, she’d served as the organization’s Deputy Director General since January 2020. She holds a M.Sc. in Economic History from the School of Economics and Management, University of Lund, supplemented by Political Science, Political Economy and Management. She has 30 years of experience from policy as employee and elected representative and has held several managerial positions liable for strategic analysis and organizational development, among others as Policy Director at the Swedish Association of Professional Scientists (Naturvetarna).

Helena Strigård, M.Sc. Molecular Biotechnology and BA Business Economy, was SwedenBIO’s CEO from 2019–2022. She started her career within life sciences at Phadia in 2004. She has since held a diverse set of positions spanning both business and government, including as Head of section at the Swedish Ministry of Finance, as an advisor at BusinessEurope and within research and innovation politics at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise.
Helena stepped down as CEO of SwedenBIO on September 15, 2022. She remains with the organization until the end of September.

Olivier Duchamp-Giudicelli, B.Sc. Mathematics & Physics and MBA, started his life science career in 2004, at Lyon Scientific Foundation as COO for BioVision, the World Life Sciences Forum and BioSquare, the International Life Science Partnering Conference. In 2010 he joined Technology Vision Group as Managing Director for BioPartnering Europe Conferences. In 2012, he moved to SwedenBIO as Managing Director for Nordic Life Science Days and Vice-President in charge of International Business Development and Promotion.

Alexandra Hoegberg, M.J. Journalism from the University of Hong Kong, is specialized in life science communications and has a background in journalism. Before joining SwedenBIO, she worked with pharmacovigilance and drug safety communication as Head of Global Communications at the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring, Uppsala Monitoring Centre. Prior to that, she resided in the Greater China Region, where she most recently worked as a journalist at Reuters News in Hong Kong.

Frida Eriksson, B.Sc. International Business and Politics from Copenhagen Business School, has a background at the Foreign Commercial Office of the US Embassy to Denmark in Copenhagen, and more recently as business developer at the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in San Diego, where she managed the chamber’s life science focus. Prior to this, Frida pursued a professional career in alpine skiing.

Per Sundin is an accountant consultant. He started his career at EY and opened his own firm 1988. He support his clients with services such as bookkeeping, closing of the books, financial statements, VAT and CIT returns, salaries and anything related.

Johanna Rissanen, B.Sc. in nursing from Malmö University, has a background working clinically as a nurse within the trauma unit at Karolinska University Hospital. Most recently she comes from an administrative role in a digital marketing company and has now joined SwedenBIO as Project Coordinator.

Maja Neiman has a PhD in Biotechnology from KTH – Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, specializing in investigations of protein signatures related to health and disease. Most recently, Maja comes from a position as project manager at the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences, IVA, supporting IVAs division of biotechnology as well as leading projects to engage teenagers in science and learning. Prior to that, she worked five years at SciLifeLab in Solna in various positions, among others heading the national facility for autoimmunity profiling.

Alejandra Marroquin has a B.Sc. Media and Communication with a focus on entrepreneurship from Linnaeus University. Before joining SwedenBIO, she worked as a communicator for a non-profit organization where she was tasked with social media marketing and digital communication. Prior to that, she held a position as a digital communicator for a recruitment company. Alejandra has a particular interest in digital communication and graphic design, she looks forward to using her knowledge within SwedenBIO.
Trained in the US as a clinician in adult hepatology / gastroenterology, Chelsea Ranger moved to Oslo in 2009 and transitioned to industry, working several years as Norway GM / SVP Commercial & Market Strategy for AMRA Medical, a Swedish medical imaging company with a biomarker platform for precision medicine applications. In 2019, she launched C. Ranger Consulting and works across the Nordic life science ecosystem with research groups, start-ups, scale-ups, and cluster organizations on strategy, IR, and stakeholder engagement. She works with Norway’s Life Science Cluster on BD and investor relations for its health-related life science members and with SwedenBIO, where she has acted as Program Director and Committee Co-Chair of NLSDays 2021 and NLSInvest, respectively, and supports today with creative content and thought leadership recruitment.
Jonas Ekstrand is a scientist, entrepreneur and life science company executive with a doctorate in medical science from Karolinska Institutet. In the 90’s he worked as a researcher and lecturer at universities in Canada, USA and Sweden. He has 25 years of life science industry experience with operational and strategic roles in big pharma and biotech companies. He was Director General of SwedenBIO from 2012 until fall 2019 and is now serving as Senior/Scientific Advisor on a consultancy basis.
Tom Schlossman is an experienced business lawyer, with broad general qualifications. He is specialized within the life science field, in particular pharmaceutical development processes, including all legal arrangements required for research, clinical development, collaborations- and exit transactions. Previous positions include legal counsel at AstraZeneca AB, general counsel and VP at Medivir AB and legal counsel for several venture cap portfolio companies. Tom has also been a member of the Swedish bar association.
