Five nominees compete for an award for outstanding contributions to solving the competence and staffing shortage within the Swedish life science industry, at SwedenBIO’s annual meeting on May 18.

That is why SwedenBIO now expands with Alexandra Hoegberg as director of communications and Sebastian Blomstrand as digital communications officer.

Finally, we get to ring the bell at the SwedenBIO office for member nr 300. Sliding in right after Agrisera Biotech, an ultimate example of homegrown Swedish biotech based in Vännäs, the jubilar nr 300 is no less than big pharma company Boehringer Ingelheim. Head quartered in Germany and with sites all over the world, their country manager for Sweden, Amy Arthur, have chosen to bring this big pharma into the community of Swedish Life Sciences.

Dag Larsson, Johan Rockberg, Atlas Antibodies (represented by Martin Skoglund) and Mohammed Homman are awarded for their outstanding contributions to pushing the frontiers of life sciences. With these awards, four different aspects of what characterizes a dynamic and bold life science sector are given attention and recognition.

As a part of the new set of collaborations between Swedish and Californian life science industries, the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce (SACC) in San Diego and SwedenBIO has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU), which will enable both organizations to strengthen their support to life science companies.
