Jessica Martinsson, M.Sc. in chemistry from Uppsala University, is the CEO and Director General of SwedenBIO since March 2023. Before joining SwedenBIO she was the COO and co-founder of Sprint Bioscience, where she also previously held the position of CEO. Jessica is an entrepreneur and drug developer with broad experience spanning from small to large companies, such as Pharmacia & Upjohn and Biovitrum, as well as member of the board in Lipigon Pharmaceuticals.

Olivier Duchamp-Giudicelli, B.Sc. Mathematics & Physics and MBA, started his life science career in 2004, at Lyon Scientific Foundation as COO for BioVision, the World Life Sciences Forum and BioSquare, the International Life Science Partnering Conference. In 2010 he joined Technology Vision Group as Managing Director for BioPartnering Europe Conferences. In 2010 he joined Technology Vision Group as Managing Director for BioPartnering Europe Conferences. In 2012, he moved to SwedenBIO as Managing Director for Nordic Life Science Days and Vice-President in charge of International Business Development and Promotion.

Alexandra Hoegberg

Alexandra Hoegberg, M.J. Journalism from the University of Hong Kong, is specialized in life science communications and has a background in journalism. Before joining SwedenBIO, she worked with pharmacovigilance and drug safety communication as Head of Global Communications at the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring, Uppsala Monitoring Centre. Prior to that, she resided in the Greater China Region, where she most recently worked as a journalist at Reuters News in Hong Kong.

Frida Eriksson

Frida Eriksson, B.Sc. International Business and Politics from Copenhagen Business School, has a background at the Foreign Commercial Office of the US Embassy to Denmark in Copenhagen, and more recently as business developer at the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in San Diego, where she managed the chamber's life science focus. Prior to this, Frida pursued a professional career in alpine skiing.

Maja Neiman

Dr Maja Neiman has a PhD in Biotechnology from KTH - Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, specializing in investigations of protein signatures related to health and disease. Most recently, Maja comes from a position as project manager at the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences, IVA, supporting IVA's division of biotechnology as well as leading projects to engage teenagers in science and learning. Prior to that, she worked five years at SciLifeLab in Solna in various positions, among others heading the national facility for autoimmunity profiling.

Marjo Puumalainen

Dr. Marjo Puumalainen has a PhD in cancer biology from the University of Zurich. Marjo has been the interim CEO and chief scientific officer in a startup company developing CRISPR-based antivirals. Prior to that, she held various research and project leading positions at the Karolinska Institute and SciLifeLab with focus on infectious disease research, drug discovery and pandemic preparedness.

Afram Yakoub

Afram Yakoub, university dip. in political science from Stockholm University, has a background in journalism and communication. Before joining SwedenBIO, he was the communications officer of a Swedish NGO. Prior to that he worked at various news outlets, both print and radio. Afram has also experience from EU-policy through his work as a policy officer at a human rights organization in Brussels, Belgium.

Johanna Rissanen, B.Sc. in nursing from Malmö University, has a background working clinically as a nurse within the trauma unit at Karolinska University Hospital. Most recently she comes from an administrative role in a digital marketing company and has joined SwedenBIO as Project Coordinator.

Per Sundin

Per Sundin is an accountant consultant. He started his career at EY and opened his own firm 1988. He supports his clients with accounting services including bookkeeping, closing of the books, financial statements, VAT and CIT returns, salaries and everything related.

Christine Hanaflor Lopez

Communications intern

Christine Hanaflor Lopez, B.A. Fine Arts major in Advertising is a creative storyteller and marketing strategist specialising in corporate branding, public relations, internal engagements and event management for key stakeholders. Before joining SwedenBIO, she worked as the brand marketing lead for a multinational tech company in Malaysia and has been in the events industry for 13 years.

Tom Schlossman

Legal advisor

Tom Schlossman is an experienced business lawyer, with broad general qualifications. He is specialized within the life science field. He is specialized within the life science field, in particular pharmaceutical development processes, including all legal arrangements required for research, clinical development, collaborations- and exit transactions. Previous positions include legal counsel at AstraZeneca AB, general counsel and VP at Medivir AB and legal counsel for several venture cap portfolio companies. Tom has also been a member of the Swedish bar association.

Jonas Ekstrand

Scientific advisor

Jonas Ekstrand is a scientist, entrepreneur and life science company executive with a doctorate in medical science from Karolinska Institutet. In the 90's he worked as a researcher and lecturer at universities in Canada, USA and Sweden. He has 25 years of life science industry experience with operational and strategic roles in big pharma and biotech companies. He was Director General of SwedenBIO from 2012 until fall 2019 and is now serving as Senior/Scientific Advisor on a consultancy basis.

Maria Anvret

Scientific advisor

Maria Anvret is professor in neurogenetics, fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA), fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) and has a doctorate from Karolinska Institutet. She has experience from operational and strategic roles in big pharma, academia, private and public actors as well as clinical counselor and policymaker. She is and has been involved over the years in national and international activities related to research and innovation. She is serving as Senior Scientific Advisor.
