The European Lead Factory (ELF) is a European drug research platform with the aim of supporting drug development in Europe. The project includes a unique collection of around half a million associations and a screening center. The aim of the European Lead Factory is to provide researchers in academia, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and patient organizations with great opportunities to promote the development of new medicines.
ENABLE focuses on Antibiotic Resistance (AMR). Infections caused by resistant bacteria are on the rise, causing increasing costs and many deaths in Europe. Despite the great need for new antibiotics, very few new effective antibiotics have been brought to the market in recent decades. The ENABLE project works to promote the development of antibiotics against gram-negative bacteria. The ultimate goal of the project is to develop attractive antimicrobial candidates for testing in the clinic.
