The annual gathering of the Swedish life science community, Summit, serves as an arena to celebrate the very best of the industry. The SwedenBIO Award, handed out since 2007, is the industry’s premier recognition, designed to spotlight and celebrate outstanding member companies within Swedish life science. By honoring exemplary achievements, the award aims to increase visibility for industry leaders who have made significant contributions and brought positive attention to Swedish life science on both national and global stages.
Following open nominations from the industry, the jury has selected the following three finalists for the 2024 award:
Pelago Bioscience is providing its patented CETSA® (Cellular Thermal Shift Assay) technology to the global pharmaceutical industry. The technology enables direct measurement of target engagement in living cells. This innovative approach accelerates the development of effective and safe therapeutics.
Xbrane Biopharma is focused on developing and manufacturing biosimilars with a proprietary platform technology, which enables a cost-efficient production of biologics. The pipeline consists of projects within ophthalmology and oncology with Ximluci® now being approved in the EU.
Vicore Pharma is developing treatments for rare lung diseases and fibrotic conditions, targeting the angiotensin II type 2 receptor (AT2R) to combat inflammation and fibrosis. Vicore’s lead candidate, C21, now in Ph II, aims to address severe unmet medical needs in pulmonary and systemic fibrosis.
The winner will be announced at our member-exclusive event, Summit, on December 11th, 2024 at Grand Hôtel in Stockholm.
The jury consists of SwedenBIO’s board: Anders Persson, AstraZeneca, Christine Wesström, Sobi, Kerstin Falck, Pfizer; Mårten Winge, Strike Pharma, Carl Kilander, HealthCap, Sana Alajmovic, Sigrid Therapeutics, Sara Corin, Cytiva and Renée Aguiar-Lucander, Calliditas.
